One of my clients recently had a vest made for me embroidered with “Mayhem Manager.” This sums up what I do.
I spent more than a decade managing production companies, where I was everything from a producer to a casting director and wrangled every element of the process. I’ve worked on tv series, live events, commercials, corporate videos, conventions, marketing videos, and photo shoots. I even produced a feature-length documentary about U2.
Production can be unpredictable and chaotic at times. Working directly with editors, animators, audio engineers, actors, and voice talent, I understand first-hand how all the pieces fit together. I work well in this fast-paced environment because I stay calm under pressure, and I know it’s my job to take care of problems before anyone even knows they exist.
It’s important to keep a positive attitude and remind people to enjoy themselves. So much of that comes down to communication. My adaptable style and keen observation skills allow me to work with all different personalities and connect with clients and crew to figure out what they need. I do my best to make sure everyone feels appreciated and heard.
